Why is it only $497?
Because you'd be one of the founding 10. A web designer usually charges $2,000 to $5,000 for custom work like this, and that's roughly where the price will settle. Right now I'm taking the first 10 shops at the founding price to build a set of beautiful examples, so the discount is real and so is the deadline: after the first 10 shops, or after June 30, it goes back up. Being one of the first 10 also means you get more of my attention, not less. Same care either way, and every dollar comes back if you don't love it.
Can I see your work before I buy?
Yes, and we won't pretend it's something it isn't: Studio is brand new, so there are no client sites yet, which is exactly why the founding price exists. What you can see today: three complete demo shops in three completely different styles (Bluebird, Meridian and Sunny Side), and Roast Launch itself, designed and built solo by John. Click around all of it and judge the craft for yourself.
What happens right after I pay?
You land on a short welcome form: snap a photo of your menu, add a few shop photos, your hours, and the feel you want, about 20 minutes whenever it suits you. You'll get a personal hello from us within a day, your first design preview around day 4, and two rounds of changes later your site is live on day 7. We also link your ordering (Square, Toast, Clover, DoorDash) and socials, so everything works from day one.
Can I update it myself, even if I'm not techy?
Yes, and you won't need us for the little stuff. Your site comes with the Editor: click the thing you want to change and change it right there, hours, menu, prices, photos, colors. There's undo and version history if you want to step back, and the design itself can't break, no matter what you do. If you can send a text message, you can run your website. Bigger redesign-level changes? Your package includes two rounds from us.
Who owns the website?
You do, completely. The design, the words, the photos, and your web address are all yours, not rented from us. If you ever leave, we hand the whole site over to you for free, and nothing about it stops working.
Are there any monthly fees?
Your first three months of hosting and the Editor are free. After that it's $27 a month to keep your site online, looked after, and editable, or we hand the whole thing over to you for free and you host it yourself. Your web address is set up for you too, up to $20 on us; already have one? We'll use it. No surprises, ever.
What if I already have a website?
Even better, we'll replace it. If your current site is a DIY build that makes you wince, or it doesn't show up on Google, this works exactly the same way: we design fresh around your shop, move your web address over, and you keep everything. Nothing goes offline in between, your customers never see a gap.
